Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 5100 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 7:50 p.m. last Friday (October 2).
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer W. Smith reported:
A female motorist was exiting the North Freeway at the above address when she observed the victim lying in the dark on the exit ramp. She drove around him and, upon realizing he was not getting up, called police. Houston Fire Department paramedics also responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased. His injuries were consistent with being struck by an unknown vehicle.
