Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 400 Aldine Bender Road about 12:50 a.m. today (February 3).
The identity of the male victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Roberson reported:
The victim was driving a black Kia Optima southbound on Spence Road – against traffic and at a high rate of speed – when he ran the stop sign at Aldine Bender. The Kia crashed into a concrete barrier on the south side of Aldine Bender. Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. There were no other persons or vehicles involved in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
