Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash at 3800 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 2:15 p.m. on September 19 has died.
The identity of the victim, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell and Officer J. Leon reported:
The victim was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling southbound on the freeway at the above address when he failed to control speed and struck a sign in the shoulder/emergency lane. Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in critical condition.
Medical staff contacted investigators and advised the victim was pronounced deceased on Wednesday (Sept. 29).
The investigation is continuing.
