| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 12100 San Lucia River Drive that occurred about 11:25 p.m. on September 6.
The suspect, Luis Alberto Rodriguez (H/m, 18), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. A booking photo of Rodriguez is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the death of Nolberto Lopez, 42.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective L. Lovelace reported:
Patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 6600 block of Winfield Road and found Mr. Lopez deceased in the back seat of a pickup truck. Witnesses in the pickup truck told officers they left a gas station on East Mount Houston Road at Suburban Drive and were followed by a white, four-door Toyota. The front seat passenger of the Toyota fired several shots at Lopez near the above address and then fled the scene.
Further investigation and witness statements identified Rodriguez as the suspect in this case and he was taken into custody today (September 30) and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
