Houston police have learned a male critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash at 1900 Runnels Street about 6:35 p.m. on Sunday (November 27) has died from his injuries.
The identity of the male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Prejean and South Central Patrol Division Officer C. Diaz reported:
The pedestrian was walking eastbound at the above address, failed to yield the right of way as he crossed Chartes Street at the crosswalk and was struck by a black BMW 5 Series traveling northbound on Chartres Street. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Ben Taub General Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased today (November 30).
The driver of the BMW , who remained at the scene, was questioned and released pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
