Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12900 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 6 a.m. today (June 15).

The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer J. Leon reported:

The female, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when she was struck by a red Toyota Tundra traveling in the southbound lanes.  Paramedics pronounced the female deceased. 

The female driver, 51, was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.  The investigation is continuing.
