| Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 12500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 10:55 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 23).
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer V. Ramos reported:
A witness told investigators the victim was in the bed of an unknown white truck observed travelling at a high rate of speed. At some point, the victim was seen jumping up and down in the truck. The witness lost sight of the truck and then saw the victim’s body in the southbound lanes of the freeway at the above address. Paramedics were called and pronounced the man deceased.
At this time, there are no known witnesses to the incident.
