Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 11000 block of Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 5:10 a.m. today (November 2).
The identity of the deceased female, 47, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer T. Riley reported:
A red Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound in lane while a pedestrian was crossing the roadway, not in a crosswalk. The Chevrolet struck the female pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the Chevrolet, 55, remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
