Houston police are investigating the assault of a man that occurred at 2600 Kettering Drive about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday (January 11).
The victim, Ronald Proano, 39, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Ferrell and J. Roberts reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a reported major crash at the above address. Upon arrival, they learned Mr. Proano was intentionally run over in a road rage incident.
A witness stated she and Proano were driving when she honked at another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle then began following them. Once stopped at the light at the above address, Proano got out of the passenger side of his vehicle, approached the suspect vehicle, and knocked on the window. Receiving no response, he turned to get back into his vehicle. That is when the suspect ran over Proano, put the vehicle in reverse to run over him again, and then struck him a third time before fleeing eastbound on Westheimer Road.
