INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $270,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $10,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the eaves of a 1-story home. They extinguished the fire and contained it to a bathroom. Heat from a plumber “sweating pipes” ignited the insulation, causing smoke to travel up the wall and into the attic. Crews from Stations 5, 77, 66 and 50 responded to this incident.
