House Fire in The South Belt / Ellington Area

WHAT: House fire.

WHEN: February 12, 2024, at 4:57 p.m.

WHERE: 10800 block of Plum Dale Way, 77034.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $2,150,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $555,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Under investigation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 2-story house and made an offensive attack. Two additional HFD units were requested, and crews briefly switched to defensive attack until the fire was controlled. A primary search was completed, the roof was ventilated and the utilities were secured. Firefighters extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified for the residents. 46 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 93, 23, 70, 71, 29, 36, 52, 61, 94 and 24.
