WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: March 27, 2024, at 12:12 a.m.
WHERE: 5400 block of N. Shady Creek Dr. 77017.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $190,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a detached garage of a house on fire and extending to the attic of the home. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. Several additional HFD units were requested, as well as CenterPoint to control the utilities. Crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. 45 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 26, 70, 29, 36, 52, 61, 24 and Rehab 17.
