WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 30, 2023 at 12:33 a.m.
WHERE: 5600 block of Lockwood Dr. 77026.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $87,371 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find heavy fire coming from the side of a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. They forced entry through the front door burglar bars and completed a primary search. Crews ventilated the roof and extinguished the fire. One person was found near the home and stated they had been sleeping in the vacant house. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. HPD and CenterPoint were also notified. Firefighters from Stations 39, 15, 19, 34, 12, 27, 34 and 30 responded to this incident.
