WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: December 23, 2022 at 1:15 p.m.
WHERE: 5300 block of Carrolton St. 77023.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $165,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $85,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (heat source too close to combustibles).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from a 1-story house. The fire originated by the front exterior wall and ran up the wall into the attic area. Crews pulled ceiling inside the house and fully extinguished the fire. The power was shut off and a fan was used to remove the smoke from the home. Firefighters from Stations 25, 26, 40, 18 and 17 responded to this incident .
