WHAT: House fire with fatalities.
WHEN:January 11, 2022 at 11:08 p.m.
WHERE: 2600 block of Holman, 77004
INJURIES: 2 civilian fatalities, one pet dog deceased.
PROPERTY SAVED: $125 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from the front of a home. They forced entry, advanced a hose line, and encountered heavier smoke conditions. Crews located one individual and removed them from the structure to waiting EMS crews who initiated medical care, however, determined the individual was already deceased. Firefighters located a second individual inside the home and transported them to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased. A deceased pet dog was also found in the home. After crews extinguished the fire, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The Medical examiner was also requested. Crews from Stations 16, 23, 6, 8, 7, 17, 18, 25 and 24 responded to this incident.
