WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: December 28, 2023, at 4:16 p.m.
WHERE: 7400 block of Santa Fe. Dr. 77061.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $190,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (heat source too close to combustible / Christmas tree).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find heavy fire coming from a house and made an offensive attack. A primary and secondary search were completed, and the utilities were controlled. The crews extinguished the fire and determined that it was caused by a Christmas tree. The American Red Cross was requested for the residents. 44 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 26, 46, 29, 36, 40, 55, 61 and 24.
