INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $177 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $8.3 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a garage on fire. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the garage. A primary search was completed of the home and crews ensured the fire had not spread through the breezeway. The fire was extinguished, and crews conducted salvage and overhaul, removing the charred structural units and insulation. A resident found the light switch in the garage on fire after hearing a noise and having the lights flicker. This was consistent with the findings and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 83, 86, 75 and 78 responded to this incident.
