WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 17, 2023 at 6:33 p.m.
WHERE: 12200 block of Clear River near Moss Oaks Dr., 77050.
INJURIES: One civilian was transported and passed away at the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $70,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within a minute to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house with a report of victims trapped. They made entry into the home and rescued a resident from the home. EMS crews began immediate life-saving efforts and transported the individual to the hospital, where, unfortunately, they passed away. Crews ventilated the home and continued the search, finding no one else. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint was also notified due to burned powerlines. Firefighters from Stations 56, 17, 30, 15, 34, 64, 32, 39, 43, 105, 24 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
