WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 11, 2024, at 7:48 p.m.
WHERE: 7600 block of Langley Rd. 77016.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $192,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house. They ventilated the roof and entered the home to begin an attack on the fire. A primary search was completed and due to worsening conditions with a wind-driven fire, crews exited the house and switched to a defensive attack. Once the fire was controlled, firefighters re-entered to complete extinguishment efforts. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint was also notified. 43 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 34, 45, 32, 39, 43, 56, 30 and Rescue 42.
