House Fire in The Central Southwest Area

WHAT: House fire.

WHEN: February 19, 2024, at 12 a.m.

WHERE: 13100 block of Remme Ridge Ln. 77074.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $290,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within eight minutes to find light smoke coming from an exterior wall near a fireplace of a 2-story house. They conducted a primary search and contained the fire to the wall. The utilities were controlled, and crews opened walls on the second floor to check for extension. The attic was also checked with no fire found. Once the fire was extinguished, the residents were advised to have an electrical technician inspect their home before turning the power back on. 31 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 59, 47, 80 and 24.
