WHAT: House Fire.
WHEN: October 28, 2022 at 1:04 p.m.
WHERE: 10600 block of Hat St, 77099.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $120,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke coming from the front door, eaves and roof of a house. The resident stated that they had left a pot of oil on the stove and returned to find the house full of smoke and the kitchen on fire. Crews found and extinguished the fire and conducted a primary search to ensure all residents were safely out. The fire was contained to the kitchen with no extension to the attic. Firefighters remained on scene and conducted salvage and overhaul. Crews from Stations 76, 2, 68, 83, 10, 73, 51 and 57 responded to this incident.
