INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $190 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $80 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (chimney)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the back of the house and a resident spraying water into his chimney. The crews open the walls and the chimney to extinguish the smoldering fire. The resident had been using the fireplace the previous night. The fire began behind the chimney and spread through the studs toward the rear wall of the house and adjacent bedroom. The resident was advised to call for the fire department if he saw any more smoke or needed additional help. Crews from fire stations 68, 73 and 75 responded to this incident.
