WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: April 4, 2024, at 2:15 p.m.
WHERE: 1700 block of Willow Rock Rd. 77088.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $118,670 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $55,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within eight minutes to find light smoke coming from a 1-story house and entered the front door to make an offensive attack. They pulled the ceiling to expose burning insulation and quickly controlled the fire. The home was ventilated, and crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no hotspots. The utilities were secured and upon investigation, it was determined that a wire had burned near a ceiling fan and was the origin of the fire. The owner was advised to leave the power off until it could be properly inspected and repaired. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 74, 31, 67, 84 and 101.
