WHAT: Hotel fire.
WHEN: December 14, 2022 at 9:18 a.m.
WHERE: 14796 Katy Freeway, 77079.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $6,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (mechanical failure, malfunction, other).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene with a laundry vent fire on the roof of a hotel. The hotel personal had used an extinguisher and removed a 2x4 prior to HFDs arrival. HFD crews removed the entire vent to expose and fully extinguish the fire. Firefighters from Stations 78, 86 and 90 responded to this incident.
