Fatal Crash Investigation at 7800 Scanlock Street

Houston police are investigating the death of a man in a possible crash that occurred at 7800 Scanlock Street about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 22).

The identity of the deceased male, 78, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Officer J. Bibb and Eastside Patrol Division Officers reported:

Officers responded to a report of a crash at the above address and found the victim lying on the ground beside a bicycle and suffering from a head injury. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the man to an area hospital where, on Monday (Oct. 23), he was pronounced deceased.

There was no apparent damage to the bicycle and no known witnesses. At this time, it is unknown if the man fell off the bicycle or was involved in a hit-and-run crash. The investigation is continuing.
