Houston Fire Department Incident Update

WHAT:	Duplex Fire
WHEN:	January 21, 2022 at 11:48 a.m.
WHERE:	4200 block of Dawnson Ln. 77051
INJURIES:	No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:	$125 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE:	$30 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:	Failure of equipment or heat source (water heater).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:	Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find fire coming from the roof of a 1-story duplex. The resident had attempted to extinguish the fire prior to HFDs arrival. Crews made a fast attack on the fire and ventilated the home. A dog was found and rescued during a primary search. The firefighters extinguished the fire and determined that the water heater was most likely origin. Crews from Stations 23, 21, 24, 35, 46 and 55 responded to this incident.
