Houston Fire Department Incident Update

WHAT:	House Fire
WHEN:	January 21, 2022 at 12:43 a.m.
WHERE:	7900 block of Elwood St. 77012
INJURIES:	No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:	$105 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE:	$1.5 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:	Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:	Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the home. Although it appeared to be vacant, neighbors reported a resident slept in the home on occasion. A primary and secondary search were completed with no one found. Once the fire was extinguished, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Crews from Stations 20, 17, 23, 26, 18, 40, 24 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
