WHAT: Duplex fire.
WHEN: November 20, 2023, at 6:22 p.m.
WHERE: 400 block of West Clay St. 77019.
INJURIES: One firefighter injured and transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find a 2-story duplex on fire. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. Crews extinguished the fire and the hotspots in the attic. The utilities were secured and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. One firefighter injured their knee and was transported to the hospital. 53 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 8, 33, 15, 6, 7, 11, 29, 15, 30, Heavy Rescue 11 and Rescue 42.
