WHAT: Duplex Fire

WHERE: 6500 block of Avenue J, 77011
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $71 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $62 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story duplex. They made an attack on the fire and ventilated the structure. A primary search was completed of both units and the power was secured. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from Stations 20, 23, 19, 17, 18, 40 and 30 responded to this incident.
