INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $25,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $5,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from an exterior column on the first floor of an apartment building. They made an offensive attack and opened the attic space to check for fire. The attic was clear, and a primary search was conducted. The utilities were secured, and the fire was quickly extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause. Crews from Stations 77, 5, 78, 49, 66, 78, 57 and the Village Fire Department responded to this incident.
