CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find some coming from a first-floor apartment unit. They quickly extinguished and contained a fire in the kitchen. Crews ventilated the entire unit which had suffered smoke damage. It was determined that the resident had been using the kitchen appliances when the power went out due to the storms and when it came back on, it caused a fire. Firefighters from Stations 68, 28, 37, 51, 60 and 82 responded to this incident.
