DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a first-floor apartment unit. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The crews extinguished a fire in the kitchen that started on the stovetop. Most of the fire damage was to the kitchen. The apartment management was on scene and advised they would place the family in another unit. Firefighters from Stations 28, 68, 10, 51, 60 and 57 responded to this incident.
