CAUSE: Unintentional (unattended cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the second floor of an apartment building. A small fire was found on the stove and extended into the cabinets. Crews used extinguishers to put it out and found no extension. A fan was used to remove the smoke from the unit. Food was left cooking unattended on the stove top and caught fire. Firefighters from Stations 45, 41, 44 and 53 responded to this incident.
