WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: December 25, 2023, at 11:06 p.m.
WHERE: 7245 Hillcroft Ave. 77081.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital for burns.
PROPERTY SAVED: $500,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $400,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as incendiary. Armando Perez Jr. (30), was arrested and charged with Arson of a habitation, a first degree felony.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find an apartment on fire with a report of trapped victims. They conducted a primary search and began to control the fire. A victim was found and removed to waiting EMS crews who transported him to the hospital. The utilities were controlled, and firefighters pulled the ceiling to check for extension and fully extinguish the fire. Additional searches were completed to ensure everyone was safely out. HFD Arson investigators and the Houston Police Department responded to investigate the incident and determine the cause and origin of the fire. 59 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 28, 37, 68, 82, 2, 10, 51, 60, 9, 57 and Rescue 10.
