WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: November 20, 2023, at 12:21 p.m.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find an apartment unit on the second floor on fire. They made an offensive attack and ensured all occupants were safely out. One resident jumped from their second-floor window and a dog was treated with oxygen. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished. The American Red Cross was notified for the occupants and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 35 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 23, 50, 20, 26, 36, 40, 61, 29, 24, 33 and Rescue 42.
