WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: February 9, 2023 at 9:30 p.m.
WHERE: 10750 Westbrae Parkway, 77031.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $87,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $12,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find a cooking fire in an apartment. They extinguished the fire that started in a pan of grease and spread to the walls and cabinets and ventilated the unit. Crews from Stations 68, 59, 51 and 82 responded to this incident.
Remember to use a moderate cooking temperature, do not overfill the container, and if you must leave the kitchen, turn the burner off.
