CAUSE: Unintentional (kitchen).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment building. They located the fire in the kitchen of a unit and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and crews checked for extension. No extension was found. The utilities were controlled, and the fire was extinguished. The unit was ventilated with a fan and firefighters conducted salvage and overhaul. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 33, 21, 46, 16 and 37.
