Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9200 Cullen Boulevard about 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday (March 13).
The victim, a 9-year-old boy, was pronounced dead on Wednesday (March 14) at Texas Children’s Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Senior Police Officer R. Saenz reported:
The victim was a passenger in a white GMC Yukon SUV traveling northbound at the above address when it was struck by a white Toyota Sienna, whose driver ran the red light while traveling westbound on Reed Road. The Toyota struck the rear right side of the GMC, causing the GMC to strike a stopped gray Ford F-150 pickup truck. The GMC then rolled over and landed on its side.
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and the driver of the GMC was also injured. Both were taken to area hospitals.
No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
