Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7500 Westheimer about 10:10 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 8).
The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer J. Quezada reported:
The driver of a silver Volvo XC6 was traveling westbound on Westheimer, and according to witnesses was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. The Volvo then collided with a silver Toyota Prius, a white Kia EV6 and a black Kia Genesis GV7. The Volvo then struck a utility box and pole at the corner of Westheimer and Hillcroft.
The driver of the Volvo was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. The passenger in the Toyota Prius was transported to the hospital in critical condition and the driver and passenger in the Kia EV6 were transported for minor injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
