Suspect Charged in Shooting Incident at 5800 Hardway Street

Houston police are investigating the incident in which a female suspect shot a male and HPD officers discharged their duty weapons at the suspect at 5800 Hardway Street about 11:15 a.m. on Sunday (October 4).

Quinteceia Alexander, 30, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 184th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Alexander is not available at this time.

Officers J. Izaguirre, R. Pfeiffer and C. Payne all discharged their duty weapons. They are all assigned to the North Patrol Division and were sworn in as officers in January 2024.

HPD Homicide Division Special Investigations Unit Senior Police Officer H. Le and Officer A. Gomez reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and were notified that a female suspect shot a male victim multiple times and was leaving the area on foot.

Responding officers observed the female suspect walking eastbound on Pinemont Drive and away from the apartment complex. Officers gave the suspect multiple commands to stop but she failed to comply. She continued eastbound towards Hardway Street where she produced a firearm and pointed it at officers. The officers discharged their duty weapons, striking the suspect more than once.

Officers, and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics rendered first aid and the suspect, identified as Alexander, was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The victim was also transported to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Alexander was charged for her role in the incident.

This case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Special Investigations Unit, the HPD Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
