Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman at 905 Lindale Street about 8:15 a.m. on Monday (October 5).
David Elijah Herrera, 31, is charged with capital murder in the 209th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Herrera is attached to this news release.
The identities of the male victim, 41, and female victim, 29, are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found two individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both victims deceased at the scene.
Further investigation identified Herrera as the suspect in this case, and he was arrested a short time later in Liberty County. After speaking with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was then charged for his role in the fatal shooting and booked into the Harris County Jail.
