Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 1700 Collingsworth Street about 9:40 a.m. today (Aug. 7).
The identity of the deceased female is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Bui and Officer N. Solomon reported:
The female pedestrian was crossing the intersection, not in a crosswalk, at the above address when she was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
