Investigation into Female’s Death at 8100 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a female found at 8100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 9 a.m. today (July 29).

The identity and cause of death of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detectives D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:

A crew mowing grass at the above address located the body of a deceased female. A preliminary investigation by HPD homicide investigators, the Houston Fire Department Arson Bureau and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the body had been partially burned.

The body appears to be that of a black female with a star tattoo on her hand. An autopsy will determine the manner and cause of death.
