Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man that occurred at 7402 Calhoun Road about 2:25 a.m. on June 5.
The suspect, Ariyanna Cooper, 23, is charged with murder in the 177th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Cooper is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Travis Powell, 23.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L. Kauffman and C. Lamont and Detectives C. Flora and M. Perez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call at an apartment complex at the above address. Officers located Houston Fire Department paramedics assisting a male who had suffered a stab wound. The male was transported to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Further investigation identified Ariyanna Cooper as the suspect in this case. She was later taken into custody, interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested and charged for her role in the incident.
