Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 4400 block of Reed Road about 9:10 p.m. on June 5.
The identity of the deceased male, 51, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer F. Flynn reported:
A male pedestrian in a wheelchair was moving eastbound in a lane of traffic at the above address when an unknown vehicle, also traveling eastbound, struck the pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates the suspect’s vehicle is a dark blue Ford or Dodge pickup truck. The vehicle did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian.
