Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 11715 South Glen Drive about 5:40 p.m. on May 2.
The suspect, Gary Johnson, 21, is charged with murder in the 176th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Johnson is attached to this news release.
Previously released surveillance images of two suspects is also attached to this news release. One suspect is still wanted.
The victim is identified as Caleb Mitchell, 19.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Rangel and H. Montealegre reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a breezeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the victim exited an apartment to meet someone when he was shot. Two males were seen fleeing the scene.
Further investigation identified Gary Johnson as one suspect in this case. On Wednesay, May 27, the suspect was arrested by HPD Westside Division’s Gang Unit. He was charged for his role in the fatal shooting and booked into the Harris County Jail.
