WHAT: Residential structure fire.
WHEN: March 18, 2024, at 3:44 p.m.
WHERE: 6200 block of El Cobre Dr. 77048.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $158,388 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $80,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story residential structure. They made an offensive attack on the fire that had spread to the attic. The roof was ventilated, and a primary and secondary search were completed. The crews extinguished the fire and covered items inside with plastic. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 55, 26, 35, 36, 61 and 24.
