WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: March 3, 2024, at 7:07 a.m.
WHERE: 10500 block of Eddystone Dr. 77043.
INJURIES: One citizen transported to the hospital with possible smoke inhalation.
PROPERTY SAVED: $175,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $225,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (Unspecified electrical malfunction).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. The resident had jumped from a window prior to HFDs arrival and was transported by HFD to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation. Crews extinguished the fire and ensured there was no one else inside. A fan was used to ventilate the smoke from the home and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 34 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 69, 2, 5, 78, 49, 57, 77 and 50.
