WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: March 4, 2024, at 8:43 a.m.
WHERE: 5350 W. Gulf Bank Rd. 77088.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: Not available (fire damage contained to one apartment unit).
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. Crews quickly extinguished the fire in a vacant unit on the first floor. The fire was contained to the unit; however, smoke had spread to several of the nearby units. Firefighters used fans to clear the units and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 58, 31, 13, 50, 67 and 4.
