| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12500 North Freeway about 2:55 a.m. on Saturday (February 3).
The deceased male is identified as Joshua Ivie, 33.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer R. Guzman reported:
The male driver, 27, of a white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the North Freeway and, as he was exiting the freeway, saw a silver Kia Soul disabled from a previous crash in the right hand lane of the exit ramp. The Chevrolet struck the Kia, which then struck Mr. Joshua Ivie, who had exited the disabled vehicle. The driver of the Chevrolet stopped and remained at the scene.
Ivie was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The driver of the Chevrolet was determined to be impaired and was detained. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the driver was released, pending further investigation.
